Donnequa E. Grantham is employed by the United States Department of Veterans Affairs as an Attorney in the Office of Employment Discrimination Complaint Adjudication. She is also a certified mediator. Ms. Grantham has served as a volunteer attorney with the DC Volunteer Lawyers Project (DCVLP) since 2013. Through DCVLP, Ms. Grantham represents children as a court appointed guardian ad litem (GAL) in custody cases in DC Superior Court. While serving as a GAL, she had the opportunity to advocate for children who are members of kinship families. Ms. Grantham’s passion for kinship advocacy derives from her experience as a member of an alternative family. Growing up, her parents participated in the Foster Care program. As such, Ms. Grantham has 6 foster siblings and over 14 foster nieces and nephews. She also was a relative caregiver for her two nephews, for whom she shared parenting responsibility. Ms. Grantham is a graduate of St. Lawrence University and earned her J.D. from Seattle University School of Law.
